ITINERARY TERMS & CONDITIONS

These Terms & Conditions govern all safari, tour, cruise extension, and travel arrangements booked with Maono Safaris Tours & Travel (“the Company”). By confirming a booking, the client agrees to be bound by these terms.

1. BOOKING & CONFIRMATION POLICY

A booking is confirmed upon receipt of a signed booking confirmation form and payment of the required deposit. Availability of lodges, flights, and activities is subject to confirmation at the time of booking.

All bookings are provisional until written confirmation is issued by Maono Safaris Tours & Travel.

2. PAYMENT TERMS

• A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to secure all bookings unless otherwise specified.
• The remaining balance is due 45 days prior to travel.
• Bookings made within 45 days of departure require full payment at the time of confirmation.

Failure to remit payment by the due date may result in automatic cancellation of the booking.

3. ACCEPTED PAYMENT METHODS

We accept the following payment methods:

• Bank Transfer (TT/Wire)
• Credit/Debit Card (processing fees may apply)
• Secure international payment platforms (subject to approval)

4. CURRENCY & EXCHANGE RATE

All quotations are provided in USD unless otherwise stated.

Payments made in other currencies will be converted at the prevailing exchange rate on the date of processing.

Maono Safaris Tours & Travel reserves the right to adjust pricing due to currency fluctuations, fuel surcharges, government taxes, or supplier rate changes beyond our control.

5. CANCELLATION POLICY

Cancellations must be made in writing. The following cancellation charges apply:

• 60+ days before departure – Deposit forfeited
• 45–59 days before departure – 50% of total booking value
• 30–44 days before departure – 75% of total booking value
• 0–29 days before departure – 100% of total booking value

Airline tickets, gorilla permits, special permits, cruise bookings, and peak-season lodge bookings may carry stricter cancellation penalties.

6. REFUND POLICY

Refunds, when applicable, are processed within 30–45 business days after receiving confirmation from suppliers.

Bank charges and transaction fees are non-refundable.

No refunds are provided for:

• No-shows
• Unused services
• Early departures
• Missed activities

7. AMENDMENTS & CHANGE FEES

Requested amendments are subject to availability and may incur:

• Administrative handling fees
• Supplier penalties
• Repricing due to rate differences

Significant itinerary changes within 30 days of departure may be treated as cancellations.

8. FORCE MAJEURE

Maono Safaris Tours & Travel shall not be liable for delays, changes, or cancellations due to circumstances beyond reasonable control including but not limited to:

• Natural disasters
• Political instability
• Government regulations
• Pandemics
• Border closures
• Airline disruptions
• Acts of God

In such cases, alternative arrangements will be offered where possible. Refunds will depend on recoverable supplier funds.

9. TRAVEL INSURANCE (MANDATORY)

Comprehensive travel insurance is mandatory for all clients and must include:

• Medical coverage
• Emergency evacuation
• Trip cancellation/interruption
• Personal liability
• Baggage loss

Clients are responsible for arranging their own insurance coverage.

10. PASSPORTS, VISAS & HEALTH REQUIREMENTS

Clients are solely responsible for:

• Valid passport (minimum 6 months validity)
• Visa requirements
• Vaccination certificates (e.g., Yellow Fever where required)
• Health regulations

Maono Safaris Tours & Travel shall not be liable for denied entry due to documentation issues.

11. LIABILITY LIMITATIONS

Maono Safaris Tours & Travel acts as an intermediary between clients and third-party suppliers including lodges, airlines, cruise operators, and transport providers.

We shall not be liable for:

• Personal injury
• Loss of life
• Property damage
• Delays
• Service failures

Where permitted by law, liability is limited to the cost of services paid to the Company.

12. SUPPLIER SUBCONTRACTING

All accommodation providers, airlines, transporters, and activity operators are independent contractors. Their individual terms and conditions apply in addition to ours.

13. ITINERARY FLEXIBILITY

Safari travel in East Africa may involve unforeseen circumstances such as:

• Weather changes
• Wildlife movement unpredictability
• Road conditions
• Park regulation changes
• Remote operational logistics

Maono Safaris Tours & Travel reserves the right to make reasonable changes to the itinerary to ensure client safety and experience quality.

14. BAGGAGE RESTRICTIONS

For scheduled safari flights:

• Maximum 15 kg (33 lbs) per person
• Soft-sided luggage only

Excess baggage may incur additional charges or be refused by airline operators.

15. HEALTH & MEDICAL DISCLOSURE

Clients must disclose:

• Pre-existing medical conditions
• Dietary requirements
• Mobility limitations

We reserve the right to decline bookings where safety cannot be reasonably assured.

16. AGE RESTRICTIONS

Certain activities (walking safaris, hot air balloon safaris, trekking, scuba diving) may carry age or health restrictions as dictated by regulatory authorities.

17. IMAGE & MARKETING CONSENT

Unless otherwise notified in writing, the Company may use photographic or video content taken during tours for marketing purposes without financial compensation to participants.

18. COMPLAINTS & DISPUTE RESOLUTION

Any concerns must be reported immediately to the tour leader or our operations office during travel.

If unresolved, written notice must be provided within 14 days of tour completion.

Disputes shall first be resolved amicably. Failing resolution, jurisdiction shall fall under Kenyan law.

19. GOVERNING LAW

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of the Republic of Kenya.

20. ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS

By confirming your booking with Maono Safaris Tours & Travel, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms & Conditions.
