Day 1 – Arrive to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi. Use airport shuttle to transfer to hotel.
Day 2 – Visit David Sheldricks Wildlife Trust for the morning elephant feeding. Continue on to the Giraffe Conservation Center and Kazuri Beads in the afternoon. Stop for lunch. Return to hotel for a relaxing evening.
Day 3 – Depart in the morning for Samburu National Park. Check into tented camp. Samburu boasts all of the Big 5 along with the Samburu 5! Your safari guide will tell you all about these amazing animals and point them out during the safari.
Day 4 – Spend these days enjoying game drives in Samburu National Park and Buffalo Springs Reserve. All meals at the camp.
Day 5 – Drive to Nyeri in the morning and check into the Outspan Hotel. Day at leisure to explore the area.
Day 6– Morning drive to Nairobi to catch an afternoon flight to Lamu Island. Transfer via boat to Shela Village. Check into Swahili style accommodations.
Day 7 – Free morning to enjoy the beach. Evening sunset cruise on Hippo Dhow complete with Swahili snacks.
Day 8 – Spend today visiting one of The Village Cooperatives local community partners. This could be one of our partner schools, medical clinics, youth programs, or environmental organizations. Enjoy lunch in the village.
Day 9 – Board Hippo Dhow in the morning and enjoy sailing around the islands and through the mangroves. If weather permits, we will bring along snorkels for the reef. Your captain and crew will prepare an amazing fish bbq right on the dhow as you swim and relax.
Day 10 – Enjoy a walking tour of the UNESCO World Heritage City of Lamu. Your guide will introduce you to Swahili artisans, street food, and architecture throughout the tour.
Day 11 – Free day to slow down and enjoy the beauty of Shela Village.
Day 12 – Catch the morning flight back to JKIA. Connect to your international flight home. Be sure your departure from Nairobi is after 7:00 p.m.
